How to take apart your WD Elements pocket hard drive

This is for First Edition WD Elements drive only. Means No "SE" on the box.

1. First you have to buy it, here is the box.

If you do not already have one, buy it here:

Western Digital My Passport Essential 500 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive (Midnight Black)





2. Remove the HDD from the box.


3. Find the cover and remove it. use some sharp flat object to remove. Be careful of the clips!


4. Once cover is removed, remove the rear two rubber padding. once that is out, you can start to juggle the hdd out.

5. Here is the HDD with the little SATA connector! Now you can do whatever you want with it!

Mine went into my laptop.
